December 13, 1999
In Attendance: Bill Turner, Evan Kurtz, Doug Hoyt, Michelle Minnis, Mike Allmendinger, Cathy and Ken Paddock, Janet Wiese, Missy Park, Jeri Ann Bush,
Dan Clement
Treasurer: The account balance is in good shape. All the Marcellus leagues are pretty even in payment as well as tournament play. There is enough money available to start the assembly of first aid kits. Cyndie Allmendinger has the go ahead to start on this project. It was felt that too much money was spent on adds for Rec League.
Facilities and Field: No problem with space at the Elementary School for Rec. League play. Discussed field availability for Spring teams. One sheet for every field will be drawn up and it will include directions to the field. Evan Kurtz volunteered to make these maps. Fields needed for Spring play are TC-3, Dryden High School, and Covenant Love (U10 only). Cathy will check with Ralph Shortell about the TC-3 field.
Rec. Leagues: Bill is sending Tara an email regarding the status of Rec. League coordination. Bill was told that Rec. League sign up numbers are down from last year. 4 kids from George Junior Republic are going to sign up for Sr. Rec. League. Some ideas for the promotion of Rec League for next year included, putting it in the District Bulletin, send registration forms and information home with kids.
Indoor Tournament: Still undecided as to what dates this will be held on. There’s many conflicts to work around.
Travel Teams: Discussed the Spring Travel Teams, at this point, they include:
U12 Boys- Michelle Minnis, Mike Allmendinger
U13 Boys- Combined with an Ithaca Team
U14 Boys- Mike Allmendinger
U16 Boys- Laszlo Engel
U12 Girls- Jeri Ann Bush
U19 Girls- Evan Kurtz
Evan Kurtz will be checking to see if anyone is interested in coaching a U14 Girls. He will also check with Larry Clapper about coaching a U16 Girls.
New Business: The topic of half game playing time guarantee was brought up by Michelle Minnis. Should all kids of all levels get half game playing time? After much discussion, Bill Turner decided to type up a contract stating that for Indoor play each player is guaranteed 1/3 playing time. For outdoor and Rec. League play, each player is guaranteed 1/2 game playing time.
The idea of Dryden hosting a Spring Tournament also came up. No details were worked out, but it’s something to talk about at future meetings.
Next Meeting: January 10, 2000
Happy Holidays to all!
