An Information Registration Sheet was distributed by Peggy Westerling : the importance of deadlines was discussed. Senior rec league deadline will be decided soon and announced. March 1 is the deadline for the spring season. January 1 is when the preliminary roster is due. If the team then dissolves after this preliminary date then a $200 fine will be imposed. Multiple team rostering was discussed. A primary team and a secondary team will be designated for such team players. Roster forms will be available after the BC dinner/meeting in late December.
Fields and Facilities: Discussion of associate member teams who roster with the DSC. A $2.00 fee per player may be imposed. This does not allow for associate member team to use Dryden’s very limited facilities. In the spring travel season the home fields will be declared. Lansing will be responsible for finding their own home fields. Lansing will need their own facilities coordinator for scheduling purposes.
Janine Bennett presented a very stimulating discussion of coaching issues and strategies. She emphasized the importance of having a ‘practice plan’, i.e. a skill of the day. Several books concerning coaching strategies were mentioned. Websites are available for the titles of these books. She also reviewed the importance of recognizing concussions in regard to team play.
U- 19 Spring Girls Team: Question raised about combining Dryden and Lansing to form a team. If interested contact Janine Bennett 844-4653.
Standardizing uniforms: A sample of a uniform purchased from Score Sports was available to see. Design logos will be presented at the next meeting. Screen design and set up for uniforms will be done by the indoor rec league. The upfront cost will be $150. The initial lock-in discount will come from the rec league order. The sales representative will be present at the next meeting.
The next meeting will be January 8, 2001.
