Minutes
July 9, 2001
Attendees: Janet Weise, Tim Weise, Bill Turner, Jeri-Ann Bush, Ken Paddock, Anne Landon, Cindy LaLonde.
DSC OFFICERS AND POSITIONS:
The President, Vice President, Registrar, Coach and Referee Coordinator, and Junior Rec League Coordinator positions are as yet unfilled. Kathy Wolfe was discussed as a possible candidate for registrar. Janine Bennett was mentioned in regard to the Junior Rec League position. The list of the people who offered to volunteer on last year’s soccer forms needs to be reviewed for possible candidates for the above positions. Discussions about having a paid assistant to log in data to the computer to alleviate the work load for the registrar was an incentive for the position of registrar. Peggy Westerling will finish her very long volunteer role as registrar by assisting in the fall registering for the Tompkins County Fall Soccer League.
TOMPKINS COUNTY FALL SOCCER
Only three teams will be participating in the fall travel league:
Mike Gray U-12 Boys
JeriAnn Bush U-10 Boys Covenant Love-Home Field
Tara Jenne U-10 Girls Covenant Love-Home Field
New DSC registration forms will be available on the Web site. June 16, 2001 is the deadline for the fall league. Ken Paddock will contact Phil Allmendinger to line the fields for the fall season.
Each coordinator will write a position description to be adopted in the bylaws.
DRYDEN YOUTH BOARD
Discussion about the need to separate the rec leagues from the travel leagues which are governed by NYSW. This would ease the load for the registrar and also change the insurance coverage for the rec leagues. Bill Turner will attempt to contact Tom Hatfield about this.
HANDBOOK FOR COACHES
Tim Weise contacted Glen Buckley who is the head of coaches for NYSW to come in and help design a book for coaches.
