Dryden Soccer Club Minutes
February 11, 2002
ATTENDEES: Cathy Paddock, Bill Turner, Susan Cerretani, Jeri Ann Bush, Tara Jenne, Evan Kurtz, Cindy LaLonde, Janine Bennett, Doug Hoyt, Ann Landon, and Kathy Wolf
Minutes for January’s meeting were approved with the change that U-12 may be at the DES for the Dryden tournament. No definite decision has been made.
Facilities Coordinator Report: Mary Hickey will be scheduling gym times for DHS while Mr. McRae is out. She will continue until the Athletic Director is ready to assume the responsibility. The new AD is Mr. Becker. During the month of March the DES gym will not be available nor will the DHS small gym. Both gyms will have equipment set up in them for the week. They will be available on the weekends.
Code of Conduct: Bill suggested forming a subcommittee to explore a Code of Conduct for the DSC. Bill did emphasize the importance of going through the DSC when concerns or complaints are raised. Bill circulated a draft of a code of conduct model for discussion. Another incident occurred at the Field involving a parent and a player, further emphasizing the need for a code of conduct. Discussion about having both a player and parent code of conduct. This document would spell out the penalties that would be incurred by the player and the parent if the code is violated. Tara Jenne, Janine Bennett, Kathy Wolf and Evan Kurtz have volunteered to form the committee to create a code of conduct for the DSC.
Tara wanted all the coaches to know that if they have to forfeit a game for whatever reason that they get receipts from the referees to prove payment was in fact made. This way we will not get re-billed for these services.
Tournament News: Doug passed out forms for the coaches to fill out for volunteering times that will work for each individual team. These forms should be turned in to Doug before the next meeting. Each team will be charged one hour for the first session , one hour for the second session and one hour for each team involved in the tournament.
