Dryden Soccer Club
Coaches Code of Conduct
Coaches and assistant coaches are responsible for controlling their players and the parents of these players during contests. Dryden Soccer Club has established the following guidelines which the coach should follow as a mentor of our children. Coaches are expected to:
Be reasonable in the demands on players (remember they are children).
Teach the rules of the game, respect for the game, and the laws of the game.
Never ridicule or yell at players for making mistakes.
Respect opponents, officials, and opposing coaches.
Be a role model.
Keep informed on coaching principles.
Respect the rights, dignity, and worth of every player.
Give the kids an opportunity to cool off- take them out of the game if they lose their temper. Remember how your team behaves is a reflection on you whether you want that or not.
Violators of the Code of Conduct or rules of the game will be disciplined as follows:
Note: The Judiciary Committee is empowered to skip directly to the third step if an incident is deemed sufficiently serious, for example striking a child.
PROTOCOL FOR REPORTING INCIDENTS
Be sure the parents of involved players are notified.
Obtain a copy of the referee's report. (Sometimes this will require asking the referee to prepare a written report, as not all leagues require them).
Complete an incident report and forward to the Club President or Judiciary Committee.
If the incident happened at a tournament, be sure the tournament director is notified.
